When Pandemic and Technology meet: A new twist on Industry 4.0, “the future of work” (TM) is a popular concept in the work-at-home crowd. However, there’s more to this concept than meets the eye. As you may already be aware, many people who are self-employed and/or have part time careers in IT have seen a major hit to their bottom lines due to the recent economic downturn.

As a result, I’d like to examine the “new twist on Industry 4.0,” and see what exactly it means and how it can help you. First, though, let’s look at why it is that Pandemic is being considered as an example of a new twist on Industry 4.0.

First, the Pandemic brand new twist on Industry 4.0 is actually an amalgamation of several concepts, some of which are in play today. For example, the internet is one of the most important tools we have right now, and one that is constantly changing. So is Social Media. With that said, the Internet and Social Media can be both new and old; which is something that many people have not considered.

Secondly, the Pandemic new twist on Industry 4.0 concept of creating a “Global Network,” is actually quite similar to that of Social Media. But the difference is that instead of allowing a person to “go global” and create a “Global Network,” they allow them to create a “Global Connection” by using Social Media, and “Global Connections.” These two types of connections are different in that a Social Media user creates connections that happen in a very local community of users, while a Global Connection is much more of a global network in nature.

In addition to this, it also seems that the Pandemic concept of using a “Global Network” and a “Global Connection” to create a “Global Network” is a bit of an oversimplification of what actually happens in an organization these days. While it is true that we do see many companies that use these strategies (for example, Amazon has multiple international outlets and uses a global distribution system), we also often see a company that uses both a global network strategy and a global connection strategy. Such a company is, in fact, a Global Network Company. This type of company creates multiple relationships with local companies, but has an open relationship with all countries around the globe.

In a sense, when Pandemic and Technology meet, it appears that the new Pandemic concept is simply trying to create a new marketing tool for companies that have recently created their own “Social Media” departments, or have been forced to create such departments. However, it is interesting to note that the companies that have a global network strategy tend to create many connections through various social media sites, while a Global Connection strategy tends to create many global connections over the internet.

So if you take the Pandemic new twist on Industry 4.0 concept at face value and think of a business as having a global network strategy, what you are really doing is creating an opportunity to connect with global clients through various online channels and a global “Global Connection.” You are also creating a chance for businesses to create new business relationships through the Internet, rather than going through local channels, as some “Network Marketing” models do.

In the end, I believe that the idea of a “Global Network” is a relatively recent invention, and one that were not part of the original vision that was created when Pandemic was created. The new concept was first seen in the movie “Cloud Atlas” where an individual travels from place to place in a mysterious and highly futuristic world. The concept then spread quickly across the Internet and then became widely accepted by many businesses, and most importantly, by marketers and consultants. While it is true that the Pandemic and Technology meeting was a great way to help companies implement the new approach, it is important to realize that when the two meet, it does not necessarily mean that a company should look to connect through the traditional local channels, but rather use the new global platforms to reach out to global clients and markets.
